- The kitchen furniture and equipment fair was promoted at the recent edition of Maderalia and will present to the international marketplace this coming April in Milan.
Valencia, 22th February 2018 – The dates for the next edition of Espacio Cocina – SICI have been set. The third Kitchen Furniture and Equipment Fair, organized jointly by Feria Valencia and the Asociación de Mueble de Cocina AMC (Kitchen Furniture Manufacturers Association) is to take place from 28th January to 1st February 2019 at the Valencia exhibition venue, once again alongside Cevisama, the great ceramic tile and bathroom trade fair. Espacio Cocina – SICI is thus consolidating its position on the European trade fair circuit as one of the major events for the sector and, without doubt, as Spain’s top platform for business, new products, trends and innovation for the kitchen furniture, accessories and built-in appliances industry.
Also, the show is once again sharing a venue with Cevisama, with the aim of continuing to foster synergies between the kitchen, bathroom and ceramic tile sectors and visitors who are installers, specifiers, interior designers and decorators. It is worth remembering that 7,456 visitors attended the last edition of Espacio Cocina – SICI – twice as many as the number who registered specifically for the fair the first time it was held and representing 34% of the total number of visitors estimated to have flocked to the venue, taking into account the migration from Cevisama and Promat. A significant number of those who registered specifically for Espacio Cocina – SICI were international visitors.
Promoting at Maderalia
Now that the dates for the next edition have been announced, the entire Espacio Cocina – SICI team has boosted its efforts to promote the fair, led by director Miguel Bixquert and AMC manager Sebastián Acedo. One of the most intensive initiatives so far, in fact, was rolled out lasts weeks at Maderalia, the Fair for Materials and Components for the Furniture-making, Carpentry and Decorating Trades, of which the kitchen accessories sector is a particularly significant part.
Espacio Cocina – SICI manned a stand of its own over the five days of Maderalia. Facilitated by the AMC, the stand served as a meeting point for both the association’s members that were visiting the fair and for the thousands of industry professionals visiting Maderalia, who had the opportunity to find out at first hand all about the upcoming edition of Espacio Cocina – SICI.
Growth in the international marketplace
In addition to the activity at Maderalia, Espacio Cocina – SICI will be implementing another major promotional drive at the Milan international furniture and kitchen fair in April. The aim is to promote Espacio Cocina – SICI in an international context, to all operators in the industry, from manufacturers and retail professionals to specifiers and the specialist media present at the event.
The internationalization of Espacio Cocina – SICI is set to be one of the 2019 fair’s priority objectives. As the event’s president, business owner Juan Luis Salvador recalls, “15.2% of our visitors last time were foreign, from 48 countries in all, including 20% from Portugal followed, to lesser degrees and in order, by France, Italy, Algeria and Germany.”
The fair will be seeking to build on this background and “increase attendance by foreign visitors and buyers from the markets that are of interest to our exhibitors. Espacio Cocina – SICI should be one of the top platforms for those in our industry wanting to develop internationally and we will also be bolstering the fair as the prime showcase for our entire industry.”
