Hábitat set to stage next show from 17th to 20th September 2019

  • Hábitat has already started preparations for its next edition and has just set the dates: Tuesday 17th to Friday 20th September 2019. Also, Valencia’s Furniture and Lighting Fair has published the final figures for the latest show, with the most significant being the number of professionals who visited the fair – 26,140, 13% up on 2017 – and the 24% increase in international buyers attending.

Valencia, 3rd October 2018.- Barely two weeks after the lights went down on another successful edition of Feria Hábitat Valencia, the Valencia International Furniture and Lighting Fair has already started preparing what will be its 55th edition. The dates have already been set: 17th to 20th September 2019. Hábitat will thus be reprising the formula that has merited it the resounding success it has been for the last two editions and means that the ‘Made in Spain’ fair for interiors will take place again from Tuesday to Friday in the third week of September.

“Hábitat has definitely taken ownership of those dates,” notes the fair’s director, Daniel Marco. “It is a successful formula as it establishes us as the leading event in the second half of the year, something that both exhibitors and visitors recognize. What is more, having Hábitat in that week in 2019 will give it a strategic position on the global circuit of trade fairs that will promote our exhibitors’ interests and boost the number of international visitors,” he explains

The organisers are already hard at work preparing for 2019, having taken stock of the figures for this last edition and the response to the call for exhibitor applications that went out in September. The figures show that Hábitat continues to grow and also allow for reassessment of both the supply and the demand sides of the Feria Valencia event.

The figures show that a total of 26,140 trade visitors attended this last Hábitat – 13% more than the 23,174 who came through the turnstiles in 2017. The number rose every day so that the fourth and final day, Thursday, saw the highest number of attendees – almost 8,000, 17% up on the same day last year – and the biggest increase over the previous days.

A breakdown of the figures highlights that, whilst the number of Spanish buyers rose 12%, the increase in the number of foreign buyers visiting was 24%, with these visitors hailing predominantly from Russia (21%), Portugal (18%), France (16%), Italy (8%) and the United Kingdom (5%) out of a total of 56 markets represented at the event at Feria Valencia.

Hábitat has also sent out a questionnaire to all the exhibitors designed to provide more detailed feedback on what aspects of the fair to improve for 2019, even though from the outset expectations for this next edition are extremely high.
