The Iberian chapter of the International Congress and Convention Assocation (ICCA) has renewed its Board of Directors, which has been joined by the Head of the Events Department of Feria Valencia, Carina Montagut. The director of the Málaga Convention Bureau, Francisco Quereda, has been elected new President for the 2015-2017 period, after the General Assembly held by the Iberian Chapter in Algarve (Portugal). The decision became official at fair IMEX Frankfurt. Quereda replaces the Portuguese Alexandra Toregao, Director of Congress of the Lisbon Congress Centre.
The new Board of Directors will be composed by Carina Montagut (Feria Valencia), Ricardo Vieira (Madeira Promotion Bureau), Christoph Tessmar (Barcelona Convention Bureau), José Toste (Azores Promotion Board) and Eva Sánchez (Hotel Auditorium Madrid). Meanwhile, Carmen Aguirregomezcorta continues as the Secretary of the Iberian Chapter.
The International Association ICCA represents the main service providers and sites related to the organisation of international association meetings and events. It brings together 950 members from 88 countries, providing them with privilieged information, communication channels and business opportunities. The Iberian chapter was created in early 1990 and currently has 59 members of Spain and Portugal. Its main objective is to attract new conferences to both countries.
