International visitors’ interest in Cevisama rockets on back of new dates

The ceramic tile and bathroom fair, set to take place from 13th to 17 June at Feria Valencia, is assured of healthy attendance by entire Spanish purchasing sector and main distributors in overseas markets

Valencia’s robust positioning as a tourist destination and its status this year as World Design Capital and European Capital of Intelligent Tourism have boosted the event’s appeal

Valencia, 10th February 2022.– The ceramic tile and bathroom industry’s purchasing power has given its backing to Cevisama 2022 being held in June. There are still four months to go before the event – scheduled to run from 13th to 17th June at Feria Valencia – takes place and the leading distributors in the domestic market have already confirmed they will be attending, as have over 230 large ceramic tile and bathroom groups in overseas markets. The figure far exceeds the total number of distributors invited to the last edition of the fair, held in February 2020, as part of the “Cevisama Business Club” programme.

These companies include, notably, 20 buying groups in the United States, a market in which the fair is rolling out an intense recruitment campaign. Interest has surged in other priority markets too, such as Canada, Latin America and northern Europe. As to Cevisama’s traditional markets, 40 German, 25 Italian and 15 French distributors have confirmed they will be attending.

These numbers will grow over the coming weeks as a thanks to the work Cevisama is undertaking in partnership with the Ministry of Economy, through IVACE Internacional, to recruit buyers and specifiers from the United Kingdom, which is Cevisama’s guest country this year.

British distributors will thus be in the spotlight in the Ivace Awards for Tile of Spain Promotion, which will celebrate ten British importers. The UK is Tile of Spain’s third largest export market.

These figures validate the decision to re-schedule the industry’s foremost event for June, a move that, according to Cevisama’s director, Carmen Álvarez, was designed to facilitate the fair “being successful in terms of financial profitability for our customers and, of course, offering the best possible conditions as regards health and safety”.

Valencia: hot destination

As well as the extensive rollcall of exhibitors and the assured presence of Spanish and international purchasing power, Cevisama 2022 will also benefit from a very special asset: the city of Valencia.

Valencia has become one of Europe’s main tourist destinations and as well as being World Design Capital 2022 is also European Capital of Intelligent Tourism. Everyone attending Cevisama will have the opportunity to enjoy not just the city’s glorious weather, but also a cultural, gastronomic and leisure offering that will help make a visit to Cevisama an unforgettable experience
